Guanaja, Honduras is a lightly populated island just a few miles east of the busier Bay Islands of Roatan and Utila. Being the smaller less-visited island, Guanaja has just a few choices for accommodation. Though these accommodations tend to be nice and cater to a variety of visitors, such as: divers, fishermen, beach-goers, travelers and most recently kiteboarding enthusiasts.
The Sweet Spot Honduras is based at Graham’s Place, a cozy full-service resort on a private island just 2 miles offshore from the main island of Guanaja. It is a kiteboarder, paddler and flats-fisherman’s paradise, with modern facilities amongst awesome natural beauty and great conditions. The beach is just steps away from your room, and the riding conditions for watersports are perfect. Plus we offer a full range of kiter and non-kitesurfing activities that are easily accessible from Graham’s Place.
For kiteboarders that are looking to self-cater there are some options of private houses that are rented by the day or week. The houses in the East End district have the easiest access to good kiteboarding conditions. They are also the most remote from restaurants and markets, so guest need to be self sufficient.
For divers, fishermen and travelers there are a variety of small to medium size hotels around Guanaja. They are nice, but not the most convenient for kiteboarding. As they are usually on the non-windy bays that are all around Guanaja.
When you’re planning a trip to Honduras, you can never go wrong with planning for accommodations through The Sweet Spot. Very few accommodation services understand the area better, we can find the ideal location for what you wish to do during your stay, whether that be kiteboarding, getting to know the local area through kayak tours, or something else entirely!
